Students from six area high schools have been tapped to lead the efforts of the Yakima Valley Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC). These "Trustees-In-Training" will assist in all facets of grantmaking for the new Helen N. Jewett Endowment for Philanthropy.

The United Way Foundation has established two new endowment funds at Yakima Valley Community Foundation. The first fund is the United Way Foundation Endowment for Operating Expenses. As the name indicates, earnings are earmarked to support operations of the United Way of Yakima County.
